There are only
two mistakes one can make along the road to truth:
Not going all
the way, and not taking the first step.

Dear Bishop Webb,
The New Testament stresses how
Jesus set the policy of equality by living it and we find this repeated in many
parables as well. That was a truth he
emphasized time and time again. It is
time for the United Methodist Church to demonstrate this truth without
limitations in the Book of Discipline.
All Christians should be able to take
comfort knowing that when they walk through the door of a church regardless of
race or sexual orientation, they will be welcome to receive the blessing of
marriage. God has made us all. We are to be there for one another as Jesus
taught.
One of the commandments states
“Love thy neighbor as thyself.” If we
as Christians live this commandment, we would eliminate this restriction of
marriage currently stated in the Book of Discipline and follow the love that
Jesus lived.
With prayers and very sincerely,
Marilyn Cohen
